My Campus Had Turned Into An Advertisement Marketplace

December 12th, 2007 Posted in marketing

Our main telco which is Telekom Malaysia had massively or insanely put their advertisement around the campus. Imagine, my eyes just getting some annoyance because all the buildings had been coated by the XPAX large banners, signboard and billboard. The worse thing is, the place where we suppose to study had become a place where we suppose to aware about their products.

*later will put some pictures

Although MMU is the subsidiary company by the TM, care or less, exploiting the campus as an advertisement marketplace would be unethical. At first, I’m not very keen about the small billboards or signboards of Xpax. But, when they eventually put the big big big bunting on the building, I was somewhat…Haaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!

According to the student’s feedbacks, although the bunting are as tall as KLCC, as big as IMAX movie, they are not really aware about that big advertisement. This is because many of us had felt that we are being exploited by the company for profits. After all, people nowadays are more aware about branding experience that personalize advertisement. They love to know what people’s like, recommendation or suggestion than the *brilliant* ideas of putting the big banners. This is what we called as the social networking era!!

Therefore, TM has to figure out what type of advertisement models that suit the student’s behavior. For instance, most of us are spending our time playing games, instant messaging, surfing internet as well as reading other people’s blog. So, do you aware that internet is a great place where you can also exploiting us effectively?

In MMU, there are thousand of students who are blogs from personal until serious topics. They do love to try on what their friend love to try. We get back to the branding experience, in this case where people love to try on what other’s would suggest.

This is the best solution for TM, please hire me to write a good thing about your products as they are more aware about the existence of my blogs than you big banners there. Muahahahaha

I will charging a great price for you guys, how about RM400 for a post??..hahahaha
