The Never Ending Story of Kuih Raya
Today is the final day of Raya’s holiday and I’m hoping that everybody berhati-hati di jalan raya. I’m still at my hometown because of our one month holiday. So, what do I do? Frankly, I’m just sleeping, eating, blogging and playing game. Really enjoy my life now!
Our dining table had become my workstation instead of eating place. Why? Because it is easier for my hand to reach kuih raya while doing some blogging. I have to update more than 5 blogs everyday, therefore eating while blogging is the best way to stimulate my brain on giving more ideas..ideas and ideas.
Back to our story on Kuih Raya, Kuih Raya can be defined as a set of cookies that being created whenever Hari Raya is around the corner. Our moms will get busy within 2 weeks before raya with flour, flavor, mixer and oven. The odour of cookies do captivate the desire of eating in which it can contribute to the increase of the rate of ponteng puasa. In Malaysian culture, there are two types of Kuih Raya that are popular among our moms. First, home-baked cookies and Pointed-Baked cookies. As we all know, home-baked cookies are all being created by our moms kitchen while Pointed-Baked cookies are being created by wholesaler. In Malay, Pointed-Baked cookies is defined as Kuih Tunjuk. The term ‘tunjuk’ is generalize as pointing to some others, pointing to item and pointing to kuih raya! How to differentiate between home-baked cookies and pointed-baked cookies? Here the tips, when you are paying a visit to your nearest neighbor’s house, the auntie there will only serve you with the best designated cookies. In which if you know she can’t cook, than you can generalize the Kuih Raya that being served by her as Pointed-Baked cookies. On the other hand, if you are tasting the cookies are differently delicious, it is home-baked cookies. Although the design can be said as bad, the truth is the taste of the home-baked kuih raya is the most important indicator of housewives’ successfulness. The more special the taste, the more popular your moms are. Since there are several types of Kuih Raya that being served to the guest, I’ll listing the Top 3 Must Have Kuih Raya chart. This is based on the popularity among our moms, the taste and originality. drum rolls…sigh :-p
p/s: I’m too bored!!
When I’m feeling a bit bored, I’ll go outside to get some fresh air. As my house somewhat inside the jungle(kononnyer), the mist frequently covering up the view range of my eyes. Tapi kat sini boring sedikit pasal takde awek..damn it!
Yummy..yummy..sodap nih
3/4 had been eaten by me while doing this entry
Let’s name is as Kuih Coklat Berputih Mata

In term of kerepek ( apa kita panggil dalam english erk? ), I can say it is not very popular among our moms. Serving a kerepek in Hari Raya, you will be acknowledge as stingy or the short word is ‘Kedek’ (Kedekut). Here is the example of Kerepek :
